As I start to get older, I have the privilege of seeing young men and women earn their degrees, sign up for the electrical unions, or start their training to become a plumber. The ironic thing is, only 27% of college graduates work in a job that’s related to their major. 80% of college students end up changing their major at least once. It’s all about finding our way in life, and whether you choose college or trade, it’s all honorable work. I met a manager at a plant nursery the other day who ended up in the business world after college. He said, ” I was making six figures, but I wasn’t happy.” He went on to tell me, “I wanted to be outside and not behind a computer, so I started over and began a trade-in nursery management.” I told him it was all about the journey.
It’s Who I Am, My Calling, My Life, And My World

Some strictly work for money, and then there are those that have a passion to do what they do. Yes, we all have to put food on the table, but it’s nice to see people that work for the love of their trade. There are no free rides to become a plumbing contractor.
Plumbing Requirements:
- Undergo a thorough criminal background check
- Submit a full set of fingerprints
- Four years’ worth of experience with a foreman, supervisor, or journeyman.
- You must pass the California Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB) exam.

- Planning and Estimating
- Finish Plumbing Installations
