We’ve never seen anything like it. If you’re glued to the news, it’s probably the wrong place to be. I can assure you they will sensationalize what’s already a tragic situation. With that said, let’s jump into some positive areas. We’ve never seen such an outpouring of generosity. In some places, there are more volunteers than people that have a need. Our air quality has improved as much as 30% in some areas such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, China, Italy, and other places around the world. Nothing can replace the loss some of us have experienced, but we can try and focus on some of the positives while keeping ourselves safe and informed. At Big B’s Plumbing, we’ve always believed in giving back to the community that’s brought us so much success.
Community Mission of Hope
To do our part to meet the needs of our community during these challenging times, Big B’s Plumbing is partnering with the Community Mission of Hope (CMOH). COMH is a 501(3)c charitable organization operating in Temecula, CA.
How Community Mission of Hope has impacted the community:
- 12,216 individuals received food through CMOH.
- CMOH Case managers helped 3,160 clients.
- CMOH prevented 35 households from homelessness.
- 722 Clients signed up for Food Bank services.
- 705,826 pounds of food distributed through CMOH.
- 21,813 Volunteer hours contributed.
- 5,607 Households helped.

Let’s Talk Plumbing
During this time, our plumbing is taxed like never before. Our kids are home from school around the clock, and that means our toilets have more than normal use. The last thing you want is a clogged toilet or sink, so make sure that you only flush toilet paper down your toilet. Never flush paper towels, condoms, cotton balls, or Q-tips. Bathroom sinks receive heavy use during these times also. A couple of tablespoons of baking soda and vinegar down the drain, along with a kettle of boiling water once or twice a month will help that black gunk from building in your bathroom drains. Additionally, no grease, fat, oils, eggshells, banana peels, or coffee grounds should go down your kitchen sink.
